The Maasai are an indigenous African ethnic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya (around 20%) and northern Tanzania (80%). Due to their distinctive customs, colorful dress and location next to the most famous game parks of East Africa (Aberdare, Maasai Mara, Serengetti etc.), they are among the most well-known African ethnic groups internationally.
The Maasai community in Maji Moto is actively working to preserve the land for native wildlife and their traditional way of life.
They provide a rare opportunity to interact with an authentic, functioning community, rather than a “staged” experience often seen by most tourists.
